Ice cycling is a popular wintertime activity to enjoy on Houhai and Shichahai Lake in Beijing. Usually every year around late December the official Shichahai Ice Rink (什刹海冰场) will open to the public, complete with ice cycles and sleds spread all around the lake!
This year the ice rink had a soft opening launch yesterday December 28 and officially opened today on December 29.

How To Get To Shichahai Lake
Take metro line 8 and disembark at Shichahai Station. From there, a short walk will lead you to the frozen lake where you’ll see signs for the Ice Cycling.

Ice Cycling Tickets
Ticket Fee: 100 RMB per person for a 3-hour session. The bicycles and sleds are already on the ice, so after you pay and enter the lake you can just go and grab one from the staff members.
Time: The ice rink is open from 9 am to 6 pm, with time slots available for 9 am-12 pm, 12 pm-3 pm, and 3 pm-6 pm.
