Rachel Weiss is an American digital marketer, travel creator, speaker, and media professional based in China since 2015.
She is the founder of Rachel Meets China, an award-winning China travel platform reaching a community of more than 85,000 across social media, and currently Digital Marketing Manager at Lost Plate, a food-focused travel company operating across China and Southeast Asia.

Her career spans digital marketing, travel media, content creation, creator partnerships, and on-camera hosting across both Chinese and international platforms. From 2021 to 2025, Rachel worked with CGTN, hosting and producing travel and culture content from destinations across China.
Rachel is also the founder of Beijing Media Network, a professional community connecting people across media, marketing, journalism, content, communications, and creative industries in Beijing.
She has spoken at TEDx and industry events across China and Asia on topics including travel and destination marketing, the creator economy, social media, community building, China travel, and cross-cultural storytelling.

Invited speaker at the Beijing International Youth Innovation and Development Forum (北京国际青年创新发展论坛), held during the 2025 Zhongguancun Forum (中关村论坛). The event brought together around 400 government officials, international organization representatives, scientists, entrepreneurs, scholars, and international experts to discuss innovation, entrepreneurship, and opportunities for global talent in Beijing.
My talk “7 Years in Beijing: Finding Belonging, Opportunity, and Life Balance” (《在北京的七年:寻找归属、机遇与生活平衡》), focused on my experience as an American media professional living and working in Beijing since 2018, with a highlight on professional opportunities, community, and life in the city.

Catherine de France Salon in Beijing: December 12, 2024
In December 2024, I held my first solo photography exhibition, “Mountains, Villages, and Hidden Gems: A Solo Female’s Exploration of China’s Beauty,” at Catherine de France Salon in Beijing.
I shared photography and stories from my solo travels across 24 provinces in China, including images I captured using my tripod during my early years of traveling the country. The exhibition was curated by CDF ART HUB, with support from ArtTalksBeijing.
