Looking for the best bars in Beijing in 2026? Beijing has everything from local craft breweries and cocktail bars to cozy wine bars, rooftop lounges, live music venues, sports pubs and hidden hutong bars.
Whether you’re looking for a great Beijing brewery, somewhere for cocktails in the hutongs, a wine bar for a relaxed night out, or a rooftop with city views, there are plenty of places worth discovering across the city.
I’ve lived in Beijing since 2018, and one of the things I’ve always loved about the city is its bar scene. It has changed so much over the years. We have longstanding Beijing classics that have survived multiple eras of the city, alongside newcomers that keep giving us new places to discover.
We’ve lost some familiar faces along the way. Migas Mercado closed, Nali Patio is no more, Café de la Poste closed its doors, and Capital Spirits is gone. If you’ve lived in Beijing for a while, you probably have your own list of places you still miss. But there are still plenty of cool places to go if you know where to look.
This isn’t an exhaustive list of every bar in Beijing. These are my personal favorites, including places I regularly go to and recommend depending on what kind of night you’re looking for. There are also plenty of places around the city that combine great food and drinks for a night out.
I recommend using Amap (Gaode Maps / 高德地图) or Baidu Maps (百度地图) to search for these bars and navigate around Beijing. Google Maps and Apple Maps are not as reliable in mainland China, and they may not show every venue or give you the most accurate directions. I’ve included Chinese addresses wherever possible so you can copy and paste them directly into Amap or Baidu Maps.
Beijing Breweries & Craft Beer Bars 🍺
Beijing has a fantastic craft beer scene, including homegrown breweries that have become institutions in the city alongside newer taprooms and international names.

Wine Bars in Beijing 🍷
Beijing’s wine scene has become one of my favorite parts of going out in the city. There are tiny neighborhood wine bars hidden in the hutongs, French bistros, natural wine spots and casual places where you can easily spend an entire evening sharing a bottle.

Cocktail Bars in Beijing 🍸
Beijing does cocktails exceptionally well. You can have drinks overlooking the Forbidden City, disappear into a hutong speakeasy, try cocktails inspired by traditional Chinese ingredients or find somewhere that combines a serious drinks menu with great food.

Live Music Bars in Beijing 🎸
Beijing has a long history of live music, and there are still plenty of places to catch everything from jazz and blues to rock, cover bands and late-night performances.
